The very system that brings new life into the world is demonized, sexualized, and objectified.

With everything that is going on with SCOTUS and Roe V. Wade, I wanted to take the time to properly highlight the beauty of the female body.

The female body boils down to three things.

One: Is it tight?

Two: Has it been used? Or are they a virgin?

Three: Was it man-made or is it natural?

These three things determines that person’s worth. When the body is no longer tight, we’re called a whore and too loose. When it has too many wrinkles, we’re instantly no longer sexy. When we have had intercourse with many partners, we are called sluts. That’s why women in the porn industry, even if they’re almost 30, they are told to dress to pretend to be 18.

The third question is the worst of them all. Trans women are constantly either way too sexualized or not even seen as women- usually both. Transexual woman (people who have gone through bottom surgery) are told they’re a catfish if they won’t tell the entire world what genitalia is in their pants. The catch is, even if they were to tell people that they have gone through the surgery, they’re told their parts won’t be good enough.

“It’s man-made; not natural.”

Going through this exploration, I studied several parts of the female form, starting with the flower, the life-giver. I wanted to shine light on its beauty. It was important to me that the colors of these pieces were not even close to any flesh color, so that no body part is seen as inherently more or less sexy than another body part due to the race of that person.

This project/exploration is not finished yet, but I have a feeling it won’t be finished for a long time as long as sexism still exists.
